Saudi Aramco SAES-J-905 references AGA-9 for ultrasonic meters and AGA-7 for turbine meters. Meters must be calibrated to OIML R32 (turbine) or AGA-9 Class 0.5 (ultrasonic) and fitted with a gas quality analyser (GC or Wobbe analyser) for energy billing. Gulf Union Ozone supplies complete fiscal metering packages with meter, GC and telemetry.
The regulator station is sized based on maximum flow rate (Nm³/h), inlet pressure, required outlet pressure and gas properties (density, Wobbe index). A two-stage regulator is preferred for large pressure drops (e.g. 40 bar → 2 bar) to reduce noise and improve accuracy. A monitor regulator in parallel with the active regulator provides over-pressure protection without a full shut-down. Gulf Union Ozone engineers use AGA-3 and ISO 23552 sizing methods and provide full station documentation including P&ID, datasheet and safety data sheet for Saudi Aramco PMT review.
Turbine meters are sensitive to liquid droplets and solid particles that can erode rotor blades, damage bearings and cause measurement error. OIML R32 and AGA-7 require that gas entering the meter be free of condensate and particles above 3 µm. A coalescing filter separator upstream removes free liquids and fine solid particles; a differential-pressure indicator across the filter element signals when cleaning is required. For Saudi gas with high CO₂ and occasional condensate carry-over, a two-stage separator (vane + coalescing) is recommended.
