API RP 752 (Management of Hazards Associated with Location of Process Plant Permanent Buildings) sets out the risk-based methodology for siting permanent occupied buildings relative to process hazards. For portable and temporary buildings on active Saudi Aramco construction sites, API RP 753 applies. Both standards require quantitative risk assessment (QRA) and consequence modelling (explosion and fire) to justify building location and blast rating. Gulf Union Ozone's structural team uses TNO and PHAST-SAFETI models to size BRM overpressure resistance (typically 0.14–1.0 psi peak reflected overpressure) for Saudi plant siting studies.
Standard portable buildings use packaged DX split-system air conditioning sized for 55°C design ambient and 1000 W/m² solar gain (Saudi ASHRAE climate zone 1A). Control rooms with electronics have precision air-conditioning (PAC) units maintaining 22±2°C and 50±10% RH. BRM and safe-haven modules use over-pressurised HVAC with activated-carbon (AAF) air filters rated to NFPA 496 for hydrocarbon vapour exclusion. All HVAC units use R32 or R410A refrigerant; Saudi SEC-approved electrical connections are provided.
GRP (glass-reinforced polyester) cabins are manufactured to BS 4994 or ASTM D3299 with a minimum wall thickness of 5 mm and UV-stabilised gelcoat for Saudi solar radiation resistance. For ATEX Zone 2 use, the GRP must be antistatic (surface resistance ≤10⁹ Ω per IEC 60079-0 Annex L) and earthed to prevent electrostatic ignition. The cabin is designed to IP55 as a minimum; IP65 is standard for Jeddah coastal-area applications. Gulf Union Ozone supplies GRP cabins with ATEX Zone 2 certificates for instrument locations in Saudi oil and gas classified areas.
To get a fast quotation, provide: building type (BRM / control room / switch room / site office / instrument cabin / safe haven), required footprint (m²) and number of personnel, blast rating required (API RP 752 overpressure psi if applicable), HVAC specification (DX split / precision AC / NFPA 496 pressurised), hazardous area classification (Zone 1 / Zone 2 / safe area), site location in Saudi Arabia, and required delivery date.
