How long does silicone sealant take to cure?
Acetoxy silicone sealant is tack-free (skin-forms) in 30-60 minutes and fully cures to 3mm depth in approximately 24 hours at 23°C and 50% relative humidity. In hot Saudi conditions (40°C, low humidity), curing is faster skin-formation but moisture-cure can be slower due to low humidity. Allow full 24-hour cure before oil or fluid exposure. Thick beads (>6mm) take longer — up to 72 hours.
