When should I use grit 320 sandpaper?
Grit 320 is used for: (1) Final surface preparation before applying spray primer on metal or filler. (2) Sanding between paint coats (denibbing — removing dust nibs and orange peel). (3) Final sanding of wood before clear coat or varnish. (4) Light scratch removal on painted surfaces before polishing. 320 leaves a fine enough surface for paint adhesion without visible sanding marks.

Can I use grit 320 wet or dry?
Standard aluminium oxide sandpaper (dry) should be used dry only. Wet-or-dry (silicon carbide) sandpaper can be used with water or lubricant for wet sanding. Wet sanding with grit 320 gives a smoother result and is used for paint finish work. Check the back of the sandpaper for "dry" or "wet and dry" specification.
