What temperature can bearing high-temp grease handle?
High-temperature bearing grease based on lithium complex or polyurea thickener is typically rated for continuous operation at -20°C to +180°C and peak temperatures to 220-260°C. Above the rated temperature, the grease base oil evaporates, the thickener degrades, and bearing lubrication fails. For bearings above 260°C, solid lubricants (MoS2, graphite) or dry-film coatings are required.

How often should hot bearings be re-greased?
Hot bearing regreasing intervals depend on temperature, speed, and grease life. As a general guideline: for every 10°C above 70°C, halve the regreasing interval. A bearing running at 150°C that would normally be regreased every 2000 hours at 70°C should be regreased every 125 hours at 150°C. Always follow the bearing and equipment manufacturer maintenance schedule.
