Question 1

What is the AX44 V-belt used for?

Accepted Answer

The AX44 is a cogged AX-section V-belt with a 44-inch outside circumference for industrial drives in HVAC systems, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and generator sets. The cogged construction provides better flexibility around smaller sheaves, reduces heat and slippage, and is a direct replacement for A44 belts.

Question 2

How do I measure the correct V-belt size?

Accepted Answer

To measure V-belt size: (1) Cross-section: measure the top width and height of the belt or sheave groove — AX section is 12.7 mm wide × 8 mm high. (2) Outside circumference: wrap a tape measure around the outside of the belt. For AX44, this is 44 inches. Alternatively, measure the inside circumference (44 minus approximately 2.5 inches for AX section ≈ 41.5 inches inside) or read the belt size code printed on the belt spine.
